FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Are these guides written for installers or for end customers?
They are written for retrofitters, distributors and brand owners who need to identify head units, choose between decoder generations and explain the upgrade to their own customers. Each guide names the specific head unit generations involved, not just the vehicle model.
Which head unit platforms are covered in the guides?
BMW CIC / NBT / NBT EVO, Mercedes-Benz NTG 4.0 to NTG 6, Audi MMI 3G / MIB / MIB2, Porsche PCM 3.1 / 4.0, Land Rover and Jaguar JR-1 / JR-2 / JR-3, plus Volkswagen, Volvo, Lexus, Toyota and Honda platforms — the same 300+ vehicle models and series covered in our catalogue.
How often do you publish new guides?
We add a guide whenever a platform gets a facelift that changes head unit compatibility, or when the same question keeps reaching our engineers from installers. The head-unit identification and wholesale sourcing guides are the two we update most often.
Can I republish these guides on my own website?
Our distributors and private-label partners may quote or republish them with attribution to DIYCarPlay. Contact us first so we can send you the current version and any images you want to use.
